The goal of the 100by2030 Campaign is to help bring about sustainable city transformation through the establishment of 100 commercially viable urban farms in South African city spaces by the year 2030.
Partnering with property developers, research institutions, technology partners and local businesses, we aim to establish new value chains with cities, working towards city transformation, local sourcing and green skills development. These farms will be collaborative sites that will be handed over to stewardship partners that will manage them as profit centers.
The business model is a blended financing model with innovative financing mechanisms employing ESD, CSI and Facilities Management budgets as part of a more conscious and sustainable approach to office parks, shopping malls, retailers, guesthouses, schools, universities and hospitals.
For the past year our pilot project have been operated from the Brooklyn Mall, Pretoria shopping centre to test technologies and viability.
